What is your name?
My name is Mohandas Jeyakumar!
Where is home to you?
I am from Sri Lanka, but I was born and raised in India.
What did you study at Solent?
I came to Solent University for the International Foundation Programme, which I successfully completed. I am now currently studying BSc (Hons) Accountancy and Finance. Before coming to Southampton, I had a completed a part qualification in Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA).
Why did you apply to be a Sabbatical Officer?
I wanted to enhance and develop the educational experience students have at Solent University, from lectures to career opportunities. It is also gives me an opportunity to make positive changes in the university with the responsbility my role holds.
What does being a part of Solent Students' Union mean to you?
It is an honour to be part of a vibrant workspace where you can make positive changes, not just for yourself but also for the students and the wider community around Southampton. Being a Sabbatical Officer gives me an overall view of the day-to-day operations of the University and the Students' Union, and how I can help improve it.
