About Me
Hello, I'm Hannah and I'm currently finishing my degree in Criminology and Psychology. I am really passionate about employability and I want to help as many students as possible to secure their future when leaving Solent.
Main Aims
My main aim is to aid the upkeep and running of all of the amazing societies that already exist at Solent. I also want to make it easier for any student with an interest to run a successful society so that everyone has the chance to join one that matches their interests when they come to Solent.
On the side of employability, I am really intent on students gaining relevant work experience throughout their degree. I found it really challenging to find both volunteering and paid opportunities that are relevant to my degree, I want to change that. The SU has an amazing volunteering programme already but I want to make it bigger and better with more opportunities for everyone on all courses.
I also really want as many students as possible to engage with the services provided by the SU. Over my years at the university, I have found that many students don’t even know about the amazing campaigns and services ran by the SU and I want to change that. I want to engage fresher’s right at the beginning so that they know they have somewhere to go where they can get support and help.
Why Me?
Last year I worked at the SU bar and had the best time. I really loved being involved in the union and seeing everyone who worked there be really passionate about helping and uniting the students at Solent. I would love to continue this further but make it even bigger and even better. I also run musical theatre workshops and am very supportive of extra-curricular activities. I want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy themselves and meet other students at the same time.
Societies and relevant work experience for all. Let's make this year the best year yet at Solent.
