Solent Stage

Welcome to Solent Stage; we are the drama and performance society at Solent University. Run by students for students, we have a range of duties and activities for people to take up. Whether you see yourself as a natural born performer and a lover of the limelight or you are inspired by the genius of technical and backstage work and fancy yourself as a bit of a tech-wizard, you are welcome here.

Our previous shows include Little Shop of Horrors, Titus Andronicus, Love’s Labour’s Lost and a great variety of showcases which have featured musical numbers from Heathers, Dear Evan Hansen, Les Miserables and Hamilton and scenes from plays including The Pillowman, Five Kinds of Silence, Brief History of Helen of Troy and even pieces written by members of the society. We produce a musical, a play and a showcase each year so there’s something for every kind of performer and always technical opportunities.

The role of “Director” calling your name? Pitch a script and you could be in with a chance of directing our play this year! Our ethos is to make theatre fun and rewarding for EVERYONE; we work hard, produce great shows and have a laugh in the process. Anybody can join us, whether you have been in the theatre for years or you’ve never thought of treading the boards before, we want you in our company.
