Results of the Student Elections Announced

From the 7th - 14th March students voted to elect in their new Student Leaders for the 2019-20 Academic Year.

Over the week 1,334 students voted and a total of 4,350 votes were cast to select the candidates they wanted to see run the Union and earn a full-time wage to make change students want to see.

The new Officer team will take office from 13th July 2019 and work to implement their manifestos and represent students across the University.

The successful elected candidates and the breakdown for each election are as follows:

 

Your new Head of Student Wellbeing is Honour Hewett who won with 333 votes.

In this election, there were 1,015 valid votes cast. This election went to 10 rounds.

In the first round – Orla Phipps was eliminated with 7 votes

In the second round – Re-Open Nominations was eliminated with 14 votes

In the third round – Pedro Moreira was eliminated with 19 votes

In the fourth round – Simona Gabriela Lordache was eliminated with 40 votes

In the fifth round – Scott was eliminated with 47 votes

In the sixth round – Samantha Miller was eliminated with 55 votes

In the seventh round - Shona Howard was eliminated with 77 votes

In the eighth round - Andreea Panfili was eliminated with 96 votes

In the ninth round - Wilfred Inuaghata was eliminated with 229 votes

In the tenth round - Eithne Hackett received 290 votes and Honour Hewitt received 333 votes, meaning Honour is elected!

 

 

Your new Head of Student Engagement is Ro Tomlin-Wills who won with 516 votes.

In this election, there were 1,052 valid votes cast. This election went to 4 rounds.

In the first round – Jimena Garcia Gamboa was eliminated with 14 votes

In the second round – Re-Open Nominations was eliminated with 21 votes

In the third round – Emily Jalloh was eliminated with 28 votes

In the fourth round – Andikan Iton received 164 votes, Fola Bishi received 328 votes and Ro Tomlin-Wills received 516 votes, meaning Ro passed the required quota and is elected!

 

 

Your new Head of Student Education is Mollie Tuck, who won with 416 votes.

In this election, there were 1,040 valid votes cast. This election went to 4 rounds.

In the first round – Re-Open Nominations was eliminated with 11 votes

In the second round – Navneet Bajaj was eliminated with 40 votes

In the third round – Jean Paul Ndindamahina was eliminated with 249 votes

In the fourth round – Liza Millen received 411 votes and Mollie Tuck received 416 votes, meaning Mollie is elected!

 

 

Your new Head of Student Voice is Grace Davis, who won with 465 votes.

In this election, there were 1,077 valid votes cast. This election went to 3 rounds.

In the first round – Re-Open Nominations was eliminated with 10 votes

In the second round – Richard Westlake was eliminated with 299 votes

In the third round – Nishan Greyson received 392 votes and Grace Davis received 465 votes, meaning Grace is elected!
