President
As president of the SU you’ll be at the forefront of running a student run student led union. Have you had previous management experience? Or perhaps you’ve enjoyed various leadership roles in a society or in group work? As president of the SU you’ll line manage the rest of the Sabbatical and Student Officers and SU staff, deal with budgets, help organise events and be the primary spokesperson for the union, so any public speaking or presentation experience you have would also be great!
VP Welfare and Community
The VP Welfare and Community role is all about assessing the needs of our students within and outside of their studies, as well as helping to create partnerships with the community through various activities and initiatives. If you’re a caring and compassionate person this role could be right up your street! Or perhaps you’ve taken part in fundraising activities or been involved in a charity role previously…Why not consider applying to be the next VP Welfare and Community?
VP Employability and Engagement
If you’re an organised person who enjoys learning new skills, and are passionate about preparing students for life after uni during their degree, you could be Solent’s next VP Employability and Engagement! Maybe you’ve been part of a society, or part of a committee role in a society, or you’re passionate about or have experience in societies, volunteering, placements or work experience.
VP Education
Do you enjoy working with academics? Perhaps you have ideas on how to help students academically? The VP Education is heavily involved in the Course Rep scheme, so if you’ve been a Course Rep before this role might interest you. The VP Education works closely with academics, so experience of this is handy. This role also involves working with timetabling and academic misconduct procedures so knowledge of this is also a plus.
