 Solent Elections 2026

NOTICE OF ELECTION

In adherence to Bye-Law 6.4.2 of Solent University Students’ Union, I hereby announce the notice for the Election of Sabbatical Officer and Volunteer Students Officer roles for the academic year 2026/2027.

This notice contains the following information:

1. Positions in which applications are invited for:

Sabbatical Officer Positions:

  • SU President- Student Voice
  • SU President- Communities and Wellbeing

 

Volunteer Student Officer Positions:

  • Activities and Societies Volunteer Student Officer
  • BAME Volunteer Student Officer
  • Chair of Student Council
  • Disability Volunteer Student Officer
  • Housing Volunteer Student Officer
  • International Volunteer Student Officer
  • LGBT+ Volunteer Student Officer
  • Postgraduate Volunteer Student Officer
  • Trans Volunteer Student Officer
  • Warsash Volunteer Student Officer
  • Womens’ Volunteer Student Officer

 

 2. Key Election Dates:

Applications Period: 26th January (10am)- 28th February (10am)

Campaigning Period: 9th March (10am) – 13th March (3pm)

Voting Period: 9th March (10am) – 13th March (3pm)

 

3. Details of who is eligible to nominate and vote:

All full Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.1) of Solent Students’ Union are eligible to participate in elections and referendums. Associate Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.2), Reciprocal Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.3) and students who have opted out of Students’ Union membership cannot participate in any democratic processes of the Students’ Union or election.
