Main Manifesto

Why me?

  • I am very passionate about making the SU work better for students.
  • I’ve had all the training so can focus summer months on getting stuff done instead of training to understand the role- which takes months.
  • I have great relationships with stakeholders and university departments, so they know and trust me.
  • I believe in development, recognition and reward, I think we need to celebrate more of the amazing things students at Solent do!
  • As with last year, my door will always be open to students, whether you have an idea, a problem or just fancy a chat!

What I’ll do!

  • I still believe extra-curricular activities are a key part of uni life, so want to make the SU’s resources more accessible to all students, whether that’s funding or transport!
  • Visibility is really important! I want to make sure the SU and sabbs are visible to all students, so you know what we are doing to help you become more employable and have a great uni experience.
  • To review and make the processes easier for students to access SU support, services and resources.
  • I want to make fresher’s fayre bigger and better!!
  • We’ve brought you Safe Solent, now we need to add a student kitchen in the library for your late night snacks during study sessions.
  • I want to make sure we’re providing events you want, such as the petting zoo!
  • I will support societies/student groups further and have tailored plans to their individual needs, working closely with them to better advertise student events!
  • More student campaigns, better support, helping you guys get what you want from the university!
  • More student media and student lead stories on the universities’ social media platforms.
  • Make sure the uni is booking the best guest speakers and workshops that make you more employable, more course specific trips and getting YOU the best head start for after uni.
  • Making sure all uni campuses are being visited regularly as you are all part of Solent.
  • Finally, my mini mission for next year is to have a bouncy castle in the Spark!!
