Teodor Mitsev

Hello,

My name is Teodor Mitsev and I’m running to support our student community on the NUS National conference. I’ve supported our students as a Head of Student Wellbeing at Solent Students’ Union and successfully created a positive impact on our learning environment. I have close connections with the leaders of our university as well as many external organizations and universities within the country which gives me the knowledge and resources to support you and make you my 1st priority as I’ve been trained for this job already.  I’m also a certified mental health first aider. I’ve worked for you during the 2 most difficult years for all.

Till now I’ve supported students by creating free mental health trainings, anti-spiking campaign, academic support through helping our advice service team and fun events such as the Goat Yoga that happened at the beginning of this academic year. I’ve also worked with academics, senior managers at the university and course reps so I can make sure your experience meets your expectations. I strongly believe that I possess the qualities needed to represent your voice as students on a national level as have the knowledge, experience and connections to make a real change happen.

Here's my plan:

  1. I’ll be working on gaining more insides on how to tackle the national issue with decolonisation on a university level.

  1. I’ll be focused on providing the right resources and environment for creating a more diverse staff team within all university departments as I believe that being inclusive for our diverse student community requires a diverse staff collective power so there will be mutual understanding on the problems that different society groups are experiencing. “You don’t get it until you face it, is my moto for diversity and inclusion.”

  1. I’m planning to provide our students with more opportunities for access to guest lecturers and visitors from real world industries as I believe that the people should learn from the ones that inspired them to study. All courses deserve equal exposure to successful members within their industries.

  1. Finally, I will work with all delegates to find a better way for Solent to be more environmentally friendly as the climate crisis should be considered NOW more than ever. We are the future of this planet!
