Stand Up, Stand Strong, Stand Together!
My name is Elysia Shirley, you can call me El. (said like the letter L) I’m 20 and live 15 minutes away from Southampton City Centre. I’ve lived here for 18 years and am always happy to give a virtual tour of the city and recommendations for great food places.
I’ve been at the university for a year already under a different degree and have since transferred to LLB Law, so I have another three years of study here at Solent. This means that I am already familiar with the university, how it runs and what it offers.
Having worked in positions previously as a team leader to large groups of young people, I have been faced with every worry, issue and concern you could think of, each one individually resolved. I will strive to meet and face any of your issues or concerns head on with an achievable outlook.
In the next academic year, we face more uncertainty thanks to the current climate, but I will aim to execute several things if voted for this role:
I will aim to be an open ear for any query or matter you want to raise within the faculty or the University, enabling you to email me at any time with your worries or concerns.
By aiming to encourage, create and continue a comfortable and content student faculty, we will be able to stand by each other throughout these unknown and unnerving times together.
I will make sure that every voice that wants to be heard is listened to, regardless of the context and guarantee that the raised topic is dealt with accordingly. We will be able to achieve great things.
Finally, I will be a friend. As cliché as that sounds, it's true; sometimes it’s just nice to meet new people, make friends and chat about University life… or even have a virtual move night to relax after a hard week’s work! (All Covid safe of course.)
We can do this as a team, and if you vote for me I will not Stand by I will Stand up, Stand Strong and Stand Together.
Please Vote for Elysia Shirley!
