Arts and Crafts Society

Solent University Arts and Crafts Society is open to all students but especially those with an interest in learning or sharing different crafts. We welcome crafters of every ability from beginners to those who have been crafting for years.

The Society is keen to get involved with community projects. Recently we assisted with painting the Sensory Room for Southampton Day Service’s Day Centre. A forest scene was produced for the Service users in a disused computer room that was then filled with sensory equipment.

We also participated in decorating the café area at Glen Lee Care Home. This created a fun, bright area for the residents to enjoy.

Crafting in a group is a great way to get to know others and the Society members are all supportive of each other. We also have social events throughout the year so that it’s not all craft, craft, craft.
