UCU Marking and Assessment Boycott statement

“With the ongoing University and College Union’s (UCU) assessment and marking boycott, Solent Students’ Union will continue to listen and respond to student feedback on how it is impacting their exams and overall university experience.

“As it currently stands, we believe the boycott may only affect a small number of students. However, we understand this is a worrying time for our students and while we wait for further updates from UCU, we want students to know we are here to help. Our free and confidential in-house Academic Advice service is completely independent from the university and can help with any academic issues you may have, including complaints, appeals, misconducts and more. You can contact our academic advice team by emailing suadvice@solent.ac.uk.

“Solent Students’ Union urges all parties involved to find a quick and meaningful resolution, all while continuing to keep communication channels open so that we can keep the student body up to date. It is essential that all student and staff voices are listened to, and the quality of the education is not reduced, degraded or hinder the progression of our students as a result of the boycott.”
