Over the summer months Solent Students’ Union will be redeveloping our physical space and improving access to our services.
These developments are an opportunity to refocus our provision. Responding to students’ feedback and changes in retail behaviours, we will create a multipurpose space which is student focused.
One of the changes you will see is the removal of the Café Bar, which will cease trading on June 2nd. The Café Bar, in its current format, has become a financially unsustainable business model. Our future plans will allow us to create a self-sustaining and profitable model which will fulfil our charitable objectives.
Working with the University to repurpose the space we will explore partnership opportunities, create social event spaces, improve our provision for supporting societies and give students greater access to our services.
We will keep all students updated on these developments as they progress over the summer months.
