The Advice Service has now re-opened, and we have a new member of staff! The service will be open from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday.
How can the Advice Service help me?
The Students’ Union Advice Service offers free and independent support on any issue relating to your academic experience while at Solent. Our job is to help make sense of your situation and empower you to make an informed decision after exploring all available options.
This service is available to all current Solent Students
We promote equality of opportunity and aim to provide a service that is tailored to your needs.
What can we help you with?
The below list gives an idea of the support we provide, but be aware that it is by no means exhaustive!
Advocacy
We can accompany you to University panels or meetings to ensure that you are treated fairly and given the opportunity to be heard and understood.
Preparation
We can brief you on exactly what to expect from a panel or meeting, and explain the relevant academic regulations or UK law applicable to your case. We can also help you to gather evidence and prepare statements.
The Advice Service will respond to all communication within two working days. Before booking an appointment with the Advice Service, please take the time to complete this form and attach it to your email.
You can pop in on the ground floor of the Students' Union or email leigh.wilson@solent.ac.uk for more information.
