Your first few weeks at Uni will fly by and before you know it you’re midway through your first term.

Fresher isn’t just about the drinking events, it’s about the memories, meeting new people and discovering new things.

Here at Solent SU we’ve organised a wide range of different events and activities to help you settle in, meet new people and make the most of your new surroundings.

Here’s what’s on:

Pop Up Unions

We’re taking the Students’ Union on tour! Find us in different places and roaming around campus on 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th and 27th September.

We will be predominantly based outside the Library so if you have any questions about the Students’ Union, student life or want some advice come and find us!

Southampton Walking Tours

Need to get to know the city? Want to find out the best places to eat or shop? Get involved and come along to one of our walking tours, we’ll be showing you all the best shops, clubs, bars, restaurants and local services.

We will be starting outside the library at 1pm on 18th, 19th and 20th September.

Fresher’s Fayre

DO NOT MISS IT! We take over the Guildhall and surrounding streets for one of the biggest fresher’s fayres in the country. You can sign up to societies and sports teams as well as discover loads of local business. You can also pick up loads of freebies, free pizza, pancakes and we’re hearing rumours of burgers being given out this year!

Make sure you come along to the Guildhall on Thursday 21st September.

Big Night In

Okay so this one isn't in the day but you may get to the point where you need a break from all the nights out or maybe they weren’t your thing in the first place? Big Night In is a really chilled night at the SU where you can sit back, relax and meet new people. There will be a range of activities throughout the night for you to get involved with or you chill out and make friends without having to shout over the latest house music hit.

It’s in the SU from 6pm on Tuesday 26th September

There will be loads more events going on over the welcome weeks run by societies and student groups so make sure you look out for something that suits you!
