- As a city centre campus we’re right on the doorstep to pretty much everything! The city offers a whole host of things to do, there’s four cinemas within walking distance of the university and halls. Plus a variety of shops, clubs and restaurants! You’re unlikely to be bored here.
- Support - The SU is dedicated to supporting and encouraging our students – we’ve got an Academic Caseworker to help you with any academic misconduct queries, as well as a VP Welfare and Community who is dedicated to the welfare of our students and involved in mental health awareness and the accessibility of the university and union, for example.
- Solent offers are industry focused courses, with lecturers who have or still do work in industry, meaning your degree is current and relevant, and will increase your employability when you leave us. The University also has a dedicated Employability and Enterprise team, to help you increase your prospects during your time with us and after, as well as an industry mentoring programme.
- The university has a wide variety of top class facilities, which of course are essential tools for our industry led courses. We have various equipment such as a variety of cameras, laptops and software for creative students, and dedicated photography studios for this purpose. Our newest building, The Spark, has held many events from Volunteering Fayres to Graduate Fashion Shows, as well as being used to show our live Ceremonies during Graduation Weeks.
- Opportunity – Our students have attended Glastonbury, travelled to various locations around the world and met an array of notable people as part of their courses at Solent. As previously mentioned, we also keep close links with industries to be able to offer once in life time work experience placements and opportunities. You’ll also be able to gain leadership experience being on a committee for a Society, or being on Student Council.
