Solent Students' Union is looking for talented, passionate professionals to volunteer on our Board as Trustees. We need your skills and experience to grow and develop as an organisation, transforming the next generation of students.

No Ordinary Charity

Students’ Unions are exciting and interesting places to be a trustee. There’s one in almost every UK University, and if leading an organisation that is membership-driven, political, vibrant, and full of young people who are working hard to deliver change for their members is something that appeals to you then you should consider becoming a trustee in one.

No Ordinary Role

As a trustee you'll have legal responsibility for the Students' Union charity, ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up. To do this, you use your personal skills and experience as needed to ensure that the charity is well-run and efficient.

The external Trustees are recruited for their skills, knowledge, and experience in order to support and guide the elected officers and student trustees. We aim to have a balance of skills to ensure the Board has some expertise in all relevant areas and are looking to recruit professionals with a background in Marketing & Communications (with particular expertise in digital and social media)

We are keen to increase the diversity of the Board and are particularly interested in hearing from candidates from a BAME background.
