Solent Students’ Union is a close team of professionals with great aspirations with increasing success who believe that every student matters. We have an opportunity to join the management team to lead our Student Communities department.  

This senior management role has strategic responsibility for leading on one of our key priorities –Community. Student activities and services are at the heart of this department and you will focus on developing and supporting our student led activities, student facing services and social opportunities. 

Solent Students’ Union has a vision of developing confident students at the heart of the Union and University which is underpinned by our mission to enrich the student experience through opportunities, support, influence and action.

You will respond to the changing needs of our diverse student body to drive improved engagement in all our activities, opportunities and events which will develop confident student leaders with the transferable skills sought by employers and help them reach their aspirations after their University experience. 

The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a diverse range of people; a strong customer or membership focus and track record of driving engagement across a diverse range of services. Innovative thinking, a commitment to quality and team work are important, as is a commitment to our organisational values. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into management or those seeking senior management experience.
