SU Awards celebrates students, staff, Societies and Course Reps who have done something exceptional at Southampton Solent University. We think these people deserve recognition for all of their hard work within the Students' Union, university and wider community!
What awards are there?
For the academic year 2025/26, we have 8 awards up for grabs. There will be a winner for each category and a highly commended. The awards are:
Society of the Year
This award celebrates a society that has made a meaningful impact on its members by consistently delivering high-quality events, fostering an inclusive and welcoming community, and demonstrating exceptional dedication throughout the year - Eligibility: Societies.
Society Personality of the Year
Awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond for their society, demonstrating outstanding commitment to their members and their activity's success - Eligibility: Societies.
Course Rep of the Year
Awarded to a Course Rep who has represented their course and fellow students in a phenomenal manner - Eligibility: Course Reps.
Volunteer Officer of the Year
Awarded to a Volunteer Officer who has campaigned with passion throughout the year, dedicating time to events, campaigns and student representation - Eligibility: Volunteer Officers.
EDI Champion Award
Awarded to someone(s) who has championed equality, diversity, and inclusion within the Solent community, and who's commitment can no longer go unsung - Eligibility: All students & staff.
Positive Community Impact Award
Awarded to someone who has made a positive notable impact, whether that's in the general community, Solent community or an identity group - Eligibility: All students & staff.
SU Award
Awarded to an individual or group who we the SU believe deserve recognition for their engagement, whether that be in activities, campaigns, and/or feedback with the union. This/these individual(s) have put in notable time and effort towards improving the experience of other students by working closely with us. The person recieving this award is chosen by SU Staff.
Teacher of the Year
Nominees will be academic staff who have demonstrated exceptional teaching and commitment to supporting students this academic year, helping students to reach their academic potential and strive for success - Eligibility: Academic staff.
