VP Employability & Engagement

Nice to meet you, where you been?

Hi! I'm Jasmine Barton, your new VP Employability & Engagement for 2015/16.

After a stressful/fun/busy campaigns week back in March (which feels like SO long ago), I am finally and officially in office!

To start things off, here’s a little bit about myself... I have just finished a BA (Hons) Advertising degree here at Solent, and I'm really excited to say that I will be graduating in November with a not so shabby 2:1!

I have moved around a lot growing up, but I have always stayed around West Sussex. At the moment I live in a small village called Pagham, near Chichester (my favourite place in the world!). I have 2 Chihuahuas called Alfie and Olly, as well as a hamster called Willow and 2 cats (I like animals…).
I also have a few 'obsessions', which consist of Netflix, cats, Game of Thrones, Dominos pizza and Taylor Swift :)

That's enough about me for now. Here is a little bit about what I will be doing for the next year: As your new VP Employability & Engagement, I will be focusing on helping you make the most out of your time at University socially as well as helping you with employability. Therefore I will be overseeing things such as societies, RAG, volunteering and events. In addition to this, I will be helping you become more employable during your time with us!

The sabbs and I have an open door policy, so if you have any concerns, or just want to come and have a chat and a cup of tea then please do not hesitate to come by and see us; as recent graduates, we know how hard it can be at University, especially for new students! That's all for now, I look forward to seeing you all in September!
