Over 600 students’ unions across the UK are affiliated to the NUS (National Union of Students). Solent Students’ Union sends three elected students, plus the SU President to represent our members at the yearly conference.

The Conference discusses five topics related to student experiences at colleges and universities: Further Education policy, Higher Education policy, Society and Citizenship policy, Welfare policy and Union Department policy. It is the chance for the elected delegate, as a Union member to shape the national policy and hold the NUS leadership to account.

The elected delegate will be a voting member, with the power to impact what the NUS stands for, and its actions over the coming year and beyond. They will also be able to vote in the NUS Leadership election.

If you have any questions about the NUS Delegate Election or the NUS referendum, please don’t hesitate to contact the Student Voice Coordinator at Owen.Cheshire@solent.ac.uk.
