7 Reasons You Should Attend The AGM 2015

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on 4th December 2015 in The Den (SU Bar) where students have the opportunity to hear about all the things we have been up to in the last year.

Not only this, but students will also be able to hear more about the SU accounts as well as the Trustees of Solent Students’ Union, where you will be able to question and learn more about the decisions made over the year.

What does this all mean? Why is my attendance important?

1.       Find out what you’re apart of

The AGM is a fantastic opportunity to find out about what your SU does for you

2.       Question the Trustees

Solent Students’ Union’s Trustees governs the union’s policies and makes decisions on matter concerning your union’s finances. The AGM is a great opportunity to meet them and ask questions on matters you care about.

3.       Enter the AGM raffle

Yep, we’ll be holding a special raffle throughout the AGM where 5 lucky students could win a £20 Amazon Voucher!

4.       Free mince pies, mulled wine and soft drinks

Because it’s Christmas!

5.       Approve the SU accounts and affiliations

At AGM students have the power to approve your Union’s accounts and affiliations, so make sure you come along, and spread the word! In order to achieve this there will need to be a minimum of 50 students to meet quoracy.

6.       Your voice matters – we want to hear from you!

We love students, and the more of you who come - the bigger the voice. We always want hear your opinion and find out how we can support you in other ways.

7.       After the AGM, it’s party time!

AGM will begin at 6:30pm and will last for approximately an hour. The Knight Bus will run an extra collection service for Warsash students and will be at WMA for pick up at 5:30pm.
