Volunteering can support your learning, enhance academic studies and give practical experience. It's an opportunity to learn further skills, put knowledge into practice and a great vehicle for personal development too.
It also increases your career prospects, helping to give you the “edge” over competitors in the job market. Getting used to having responsibilities as a volunteer can raise your confidence and personal esteem.
There's flexibility around when you volunteer so there's plenty of time for your studies too. The Students’ Union has an expenses policy in place which means that you will never be out of pocket whilst volunteering with us. Also, you will get the chance to meet different people and make new friends in “the real world”.

The farm will be hosting a ‘taster day’ on September 27th at the farm itself for anyone who would consider becoming a regular volunteer in the future.
There will be a wide range of activities on offer from working with animals to gardening, working with children and co-ordinating group activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in any of those areas.

Solent Buddy Scheme
Are you confident? Feel you have the experience to guide and support other students?
