Your Sabb team were voted into office at the end of the last academic year. They are voted for by students and accountable to students. Their role is to represent YOU and help enhance the student experience. They work from the Students' Union and are completely independent of the University. This means they can campaign on your behalf to help improve Solent for students.
Sabbatical Officers are elected on their manifesto and these act as a guide for them to work on campaigns, represent students and enhance the student experience at Solent.
They also represent you at local and national level working with and challenging when needed local authority and MP's.
Who are they and what do they do?
SU President - Megan Maddex (Manifesto)
To be the primary spokesperson for the Students’ Union and Chair of the Board of Trustees, with ultimate responsibility for all Union activities, providing political leadership to the organisation and coordinating the work of all elected Officers.
VP Education - Lewis Cleminson (Manifesto)
Responsible for representing student membership on all educational matters and a Trustee of the Students’ Union.
VP Employability and Engagement - Naomi Fry (Manifesto)
Responsible for representing student membership on all matters relating to employability and the development of opportunities to enhance students’ time at University and a Trustee of the Students’ Union.
VP Welfare and Community - Hanna Head (Manifesto)
Responsible for; representing student membership on all matters relating to student support, health, safety and wellbeing; representing students in the community; and a Trustee of the Students’ Union.
