Your Faculty Reps
Faculty Reps play an important role in representing the academic and educational needs for all students here at Solent University. Reps are the voice for students at a faculty-wide level, both through supporting Course Reps and lobbying/campaigning for wider faculty-level changes at the university.
There are four faculties across Solent University and anyone from the relevant faculty can run to be a rep to be a voice for our students!
The four faculties are:

Faculty of Sport, Health and Social Sciences

Warsash Maritime School
Key responsilibites include:

Drive faculty initiatives and policy developments to improve the student experience

Attend and represent student voice during faculty meetings

Engage and support course reps to be effective and empowered in their roles

Coordinate with and feedback regularly to the Head of Student Education
-
Have voting rights in Student Council meetings
-
Maintain regular contact with relevant faculty and SU staff
How do I run to be a Faculty Rep?
The Students’ Union is for students’, run by students. Elections are where you, Solent students, decide who will represent you at Solent University, championing your voice within the university, Students' Union and the wider community.
Nominations are now open for both Sabbatical and Volunteer Officers, including Faculty Reps, for 2023/24! You can find more information here on the elections process and how to nominate yourself.
Nominations close Friday 27th January 2023 at 5pm.
I am a Faculty Rep - now what?
As a Faculty Rep, you are representing the student voice for your course and making change happen at the highest possible level - directly to the university leads. You will need to attend all important meetings with the university to ensure you are actively sharing student issues with the course leads. Faculty Reps must also be the point of contact for Course Reps and regularly check in with our Head of Education to ensure the feedback cycle is always running smoothly.
Who are my Faculty Representatives?
At present, all positions are vacant and we will be looking for students to nominate themselves during our Solent Elections, which are OPEN NOW!
