A message from your Sabbs Your Sabbatical Officers

As a Sabbatical Officer team, we would like to reassure you that we have been working tirelessly to ensure that students' concerns are central in discussions with the University around the issues you’ve faced throughout the pandemic. As mentioned in the latest email from the VC, the second phase of the no-detriment policy has now been confirmed. We have been involved in ongoing discussions around the quality of your learning experience, fee refunds, access to facilities and more. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to resolve these issues as quickly as we would like as they have far-reaching consequences, but we promise we are continuing to work on these issues and to fight for your student rights every day.

To give you an idea of what we are doing to represent you, we are involved in regular meetings with the Vice Chancellors Group as well as liaising with other Student Unions and the NUS in order to find the best solutions and ways to represent and address your concerns. As soon as any decisions are confirmed we will share them with you on our social media channels and our website, we hope to have more details by Friday January 15th.

We would encourage you to contact us directly with any questions or issues you are facing so that we can address them effectively. We also encourage you to make full use of the free support available to you through our Academic Advice Service, the Student Hub and the Library Team, they are all here to support you and continue to be available remotely.

If there is anything more we can do, please let us know and we will do our best for you!

All the best,
