About the NEW Volunteering Scheme

New for 2021!

The Volunteering Scheme encourages society committee members to record their hours volunteering.

There are 3 tiers of achievement and awards at the end of the year to recognise your contributions and achievements.

You can also log volunteering hours in the community to go towards your volunteering log.

Award Criteria

Use the Volunteering Time Log to log your progress and send your submission to student.involvement@solent.ac.uk.

Award Tiers

Bronze

Volunteered your time for at least 20 hours

Be a member of a society

Be a course rep

Volunteer (for any amount of time) within the local community

Create a small case study (no more than 500 words) detailing some of the key information regarding your volunteering as well as some of the skills you have learnt and submit this to student.involvement@solent.ac.uk

3 out of 5 must be completed to win award

 

Silver

Volunteered your time for at least 35 hours

Complete Solent SU's learnt skills checklist

Create a small description of how you have developed, at least 2, skills whilst volunteering

Volunteer (for any amount of time) within the local community, within a not-for-profit organisation

Create a practice CV that incorporates the skills/ experience you have gained whilst volunteering and submit this to student.involvement@solent.ac.uk

3 out of 5 must be completed to win award

 

Gold

Volunteered your time for at least 50 hours

Create a small description of of how you have developed, at least 2 more, skills whilst volunteering

Create a small (less than 500 words) submission about the benefits you have encountered whilst volunteering

Create a small quote for the Students' Union to use to advertise the benefits of volunteering to others and submit this to student.involvement@solent.ac.uk

All 4 must be completed to win award
