Building the University of tomorrow
Hello, I’m Teodor and I’m running the elections to continue supporting you one more year as your Head of Student Wellbeing. I honestly can say that since I got elected last year, I haven’t felt more grateful as I supported such a large community of students and actually saw the change.
What I’ve done for you:
- Worked with the team and approved a No-detriment policy for the academic 2020-2021
- Provided a free mental health training for 500 students from different target groups
- Created a BLM campaign and delivered a hosted event by a local charity, that after that agreed to provide multiple opportunities for our students to attend engaging online events.
- Created, approved, and published a house renting guide for all students.
- Worked with our trans officer to approve a Trans inclusion policy at Solent which made our university even more inclusive.
- I’ve actively supported the “Students deserve better” campaign fighting for your rights to receive accommodation refunds and financial support that you can now benefit from.
I’m part of the first sabbatical team that worked completely in a severe Covid-19 environment at Solent and successfully created a positive impact on all students. I have close connections with the leaders of our university as well as many external organizations and universities within the country which gives me the knowledge and resources to support you and make you my 1st priority as I’ve been trained for this job already. I’m also a certified mental health first aider. I’ve worked for you during a different year for all. A year to adapt to. Now I’m ready for the year to progress through. Change is the only constant thing in our world let’s work and grow together.
If re-elected I promise to:
1. Explore and provide more work, study and travel options since Erasmus is no longer an option
2. Spread awareness around autism and developmental disorders and make the university more inclusive while representing this community.
3. Develop a new way to provide the students with more practical opportunities outside their academic studies using peer mentoring techniques and workshops.
4. Work closely with the VCG ensuring that your voice is heard so I can help the student community feel more included and supported.
5. Change policies that will allow students to use the facilities they deserve according to the “New normal” situation.
