Crime is an issue that affects a number of students each year with one third of all students being affected by crime at university and college and NUS is commited to bringing about a safer student experience.
The NUS crime campaign is working closely with the Home Office to provide the very best in expert advice to students and students' unions across England and Wales, whilst also featuring innovative and interactive video content.
Simon Tiernan, Research and Information Officer (Student Crime), says "A lot of the existing campaigns around crime haven't adequately focused on students and, as this affects so many studying at university and college, it is important to re-energise the student body to look closely at crime prevention. After surveying students and organising two national crime conferences, we felt The Lock would be a great way to get students re-engaged with this area.
