| Recycling | Continue to recycle all waste office paper in bins outside offices; Look into composting waste food from the café; Introduce recycling bins for bottles; Use ‘Ernie’ to collect waste bottles from Polygon area for recycling, and unwanted items in summer for charities | Bottle bins now in use; Ernie launched summer 2009. Next bottle collection will be at Christmas time. |
| Sustainable Procurement | Look into signing up to NUS Sound Ethical Impact scheme to encourage students to buy Fairtrade products; continue to stock Fairtrade products and use Fairtrade tea & coffee in all Union outlets | |
| Travel | Encourage staff to car pool to and from work, or take public transport; ensure all miles travelled on Union business are travelled on the most sustainable mode of transport | Representation & Democracy Co-Ordinator and Sales & Marketing Manager car pool to and from work. |
| Printing | Instead of multiple printers, encourage all staff to print to central photocopier; continue to monitor printing & copying with the aim of reducing the number of copies made | Transition to using photocopier complete; Printing is monitored by Finance. |
