Deals with all student sports, societies and volunteering.

Job Description:

Actively support, deliver and offer access to student development opportunities.

Represent the Students' Union and the student community on student development issues.

Represent sports teams by being an active member of the Sports Federation Management Team.

Assist in the deliver of training for sports teams to ensure they understand their role and the link with the Students’ Union.

To produce publications promoting student development opportunities (including the Sports Federation).

To co-ordinate the Students’ Union annual programme of sports, societies, volunteering, RAG and other student development activity.

Work closely with the University to promote the interest of student activities and development opportunities.

All Sabbatical Officers, regardless of position:

As an elected trustee and sabbatical officer of the Student Union it is your responsibility to:

Uphold the Students’ Union Constitution.

Work as a team of trustees to oversee the operation of the Students’ Union.

Actively participate in the democratic process of the Students’ Union through the committee structure as outlined by the constitution.

Represent the general interests of students by being a member of both internal and external committees as and when required.

Feedback on issues discussed at University committees, presenting reports to the Executive Committee and Union Council as and when required.

Where necessary attend meetings on behalf of other sabbatical officers to ensure effective representation for students.

Monitor, review and deliver Student Union policy.
 
Liaise with external stakeholders as required e.g. National Union of Students (NUS), Primary Care Trust (PCT).

To work as a team to promote, publicise and co-ordinate all campaigns.

To regularly obtain feedback from students to ensure that the Students’ Union meets the needs of our main stakeholder students.

To contribute to the smooth running of the organization.
